Friday with Friends

Dear Friends,

I hope all of you had a wonderful time celebrating the beginning of the new year, 2025.  This year holds great promise for Klamath Falls Friends Church. Please come and worship with us if you have not been in a while.  That would be a worthwhile New Year’s Resolution, to attend Friends’ Meeting more often. We can also provide the community support you may need for other resolutions you may have made as a way of ushering in the New Year 2025.

We have had a loss in the family of one of our church members, Cindy Quick.  Her mother’s, Donna Jean Lundberg’s, life will be celebrated Saturday January 4 at 1:00 PM.  Please come to show your support for Cindy after the loss of her mother.

We have a few things to add to your calendar.  Our January calendar is full, and there are meetings and programs planned that you may want to be a part of.  Here is a short list:

  • The blanket/sleeping bag drive will continue through January. Laundered or new blankets and sleeping bags are being gathered for the food pantry to give away in the winter.  Please bring used, clean blankets to the church office.
  •  Friends Food Drive: Every Sunday please bring a can of food or another food item or a small donation to Klamath Interfaith Food Pantry. The Oregon Food Bank is experiencing a decrease in food supplies which “trickles down” to our local food bank and specifically Klamath Interfaith Food Pantry.
  • January 19 – First Book Group of Quaker Ecology (will meet after worship on the third Sunday of each month until April and end with an Earth Day celebration) A Sign Up sheet for the books is on the entryway table. The books are in, so if you have signed up, please speak with Leigh to get your copy.
  • January 14 – Ministry & Care 5:30 PM
  • January 19 – Peace and Social Concerns 9 AM
  • January 20 – 5:30 PM Administrative Meeting
  • January 26 – Monthly Meeting for Business
  • January 29, 3:00 PM The OHSU Street Nursing Program explained in length at Klamath Lutheran Services — Please come; it is a good ministry

Sincerely,

Leigh
