Dear Friends,
I feel that hearing the voice of all the members of the community is important. I don’t mind doing a weekly devotional with announcements, but there are other voices I want you to hear as well. Today we are beginning with Griffin Toffler’s announcement of the upcoming visit of Mary Ann Percy on April 5. There are lots of things going on on that date, but with any planning you can still come to the Peace Luncheon and participate in the other things as well.
Sincerely,
Leigh
“It is truly an exciting opportunity coming up on April 5th for us to discern together how we can connect with Spirit in the Web of Life on Earth. Our Peace Luncheon features Mary Ann Percy, who will skillfully guide us by listening, sharing, and offering practices toward healing and experiencing the joy of doing the work we are called to do.
Mary Ann Percy’s work is informed by a methodology developed by Joanna Macy which fosters reconnection with oneself, others, and the planet. She studied with Thomas Berry, whose studies of religion, Earth history and evolution led him to call himself a “geologian”, advocating that “the story of the universe is a sacred story.” She is also a student of Robin Wall Kimmerer, the best-selling author of Braiding Sweetgrass and Gathering Moss, a professor of Environmental Biology, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and the founder of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment.
Come at 11:30, April 5, Saturday. A light lunch will be provided. Please tell your friends and groups of which you are a part who might be interested in this event.”
